Do what works for you

Do you remember all the things you said you wouldn't do as a parent and now do? I remember the first night in hospital with my little babe and I felt guilty at the thought of offering her a dummy as if I was doing her wrong to try to settle her with it. To this day however, even with persistent tries its something she doesn't take to.

Another thing I remember I said I wouldnt do was co-sleep. The first few months she wouldn't actually take to sleeping in our bed and even now she does spend 90% of her time in her cot, she will come into bed with us if she isnt settled after a few atempts in the cot or when my husband is on night shift - I do love her sleeping in our bed, she definitely has a more peaceful sleep in our bed and will sleep longer, which is definitely a bonus.

Another thing I thought perhaps I wouldnt do so soon would be to introduce the use of a tablet. Our babe isn't a chilled one she won't sit still anywhere and always needs constant attention which I am more than happy to provide but when you need to get from A to B with a screaming baby in the back it doesn't work so we introduced the tablet for car journeys and for when we're out and about at resturants. It does seem crazy at so young (7 months) but if it makes like easier I dont see the issue.

Do what works for you, let other parents or non parents judge if they want to, as long as you and your child is content then why worry about other opinions.

Until next time

All our love
