I am a woman, what's your super power?

I have not appreciated the female mind, body and soul more than I do since becoming a mum. As women we already know we do it all but as a mum this is a whole other level.

If you are in a relationship, how many of your partners rely on you? What's for dinner? Is my uniform done? Where the toilet roll or toothpaste magically refills itself. I'm not going to dishearten males because my partner offers another side to our relationship of pure emotional support which I would crumble without but the lists in a womans head shouldn't be taken for granted - women do keep the world going, if that means a clean house, food on the table, the food shop done - down to the smaller less recognised things such as organising presents on behalf of you, sending that thank you card. Since becoming a mum, this thought process has doubled, I have to make sure all of her paperwork is in order, noting all of her doctors appointments, that she has enough nappies, wipes or clothes with us whilst were out, whilst wipping my boob out every 2-3 hours to feed her (anywhere and everywhere) - and that's just the tip of the iceberg, that doesnt even touch upon the mental impact of becoming a mother.

Hands up to the women who have more than one job, mothers with more than one child, single mothers, women going through the struggles of becoming a mother, those women who didnt want to become mothers and had no choice and to all of the hustlers, movers and shakers who get up every day and just do.

All in all, women do do it all, whether they are a mother or not, they deserve to be recognised, they deserve to be appreciated and they deserve to have today and everyday as International Womans Day.
